Launch Preview Party at 1 Kept
Last week, CulinaryLocal hosted a launch party with a select group of members of the Atlanta Food Blogger’s Society at 1 Kept restaurant in Buckhead to preview the new marketplace. Owner of 1 Kept, Thaddeus Keefe, wowed us with a delicious five-course meal showcasing fresh, seasonal produce and other locally sourced ingredients while Robert Neidlinger, the mastermind behind CulinaryLocal, and Alexa Lampasona demoed the new marketplace. Each course of farm-fresh food was expertly paired with inventive cocktails by their new mixologist, Jonathon Turner. Jonathon really shook up the night with some wickedly refreshing libations that weren’t even on the menu yet like the Phoenix Revival and other Southern-inspired classics.
Farm Fresh Food
While Robert walked us through the new user-friendly site, which is due to launch this month, we grazed on truffled popcorn; a deviled quail egg with tomato jam and lemon vinaigrette; Crystal organic butterhead and frisee salad with smoky bacon lardons, spiced cashews and charred Vidalia onion vinaigrette; crispy flatbread unexpectedly topped with broccoli greens, fingerling potatoes, garlic confit and creamy house-made ricotta; a large seared scallop with irresistible carrot coriander puree and topped with crispy leeks; and seafood Cioppino overflowing with littleneck clams, shrimp, calamari, roma tomato, corn, shallots, red peppers and a piece of grilled sourdough bread that begged to sop up the savory sauce.
