DIY Buttermilk Biscuits
I can’t get enough of these flaky, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits! The best part is that you can make these easy biscuits anytime you have leftover buttermilk and keep them in your freezer year-round. Just pop them in the oven when you get the craving, which I promise will be often. But at least you don’t have to make and eat an entire container of them. They are so simple to make using your favorite fresh or dried herbs and cheese. Mix it up and create your own favorite flavor combinations or try some of mine, like Muenster-Thyme-Rosemary, Goat Cheese-Chervil and Cheddar-Green Onion. You can actually see the sea salt crystals, fresh herbs and tiny explosive pockets of cheese! And the taste is out of this world. No extra butter required but feel free to add some more, I won’t tell.
Suggested Wine Pairings
I don’t typically make a meal out of these irresistible biscuits, but we have been known to enjoy them for brunch over a glass of sparkling mimosa. They are also fantastic stuffed with ham, salami, chorizo, cheese and all of your other usual panini fillings, but more likely than not you’ll want to pair your wines with the main course.
