Simple Sweet Indulgence
These cookie bars are loaded with milk chocolate, white chocolate and butterscotch. They are so incredibly rich that they should come with their own warning label, because you will be craving a tall glass of milk after just one bite. But every once in a while a girl deserves a splurge, right? These simple treats are definitely splurge-worthy. And they are so quick and easy to make that you can whip up a quick batch this afternoon and indulge all weekend, that is if they last that long! I made these last week for an event I was catering and my girls were begging me for a taste. So I had to whip up a second batch, It’s just that simple.
Resist the urge to dive right in when you pull these out of the oven! I, unfortunately, learned that the hard way because I can’t resist the smell of fresh baked goodness. But you really need to let these cool so the sweetened condensed milk can set, otherwise you will end up with a gooey mess. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Suggested Wine Pairings
These incredibly rich cookie bars need a sweet wine that isn’t quite as full and rich to help refresh the palate between bars, I mean bites. Try a refreshingly light and sparkly Moscato d’Asti for a match made in chocolate heaven. If you prefer red dessert wines, reach for a Port or French Banyuls. These velvety wines are typically not overly sweet and would harmonize perfectly with a chocolate-loaded cookie bar.
